This is a general-purpose draft covering how souksafar actually handles data today. It hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer — have one review it before treating it as your final, binding policy.
Account information: when you sign up, we collect your name and phone number, and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password itself). Email is optional for travelers.
Reservation details: when you request a quote or contact an agency, we collect the trip details, dates, and budget you provide, along with your name, phone, and email so the agency can respond to you.
Site preferences: we use a cookie to remember which country's marketplace you're browsing, and a session cookie to keep you signed in.
Usage data: we use a first-party, non-identifying visitor cookie to understand overall traffic patterns. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
To create and secure your account, and to verify your phone number during sign-up and password resets.
To connect you with travel agencies when you submit a reservation request, favorite a trip, or follow an agency.
To operate, maintain, and improve the marketplace — for example, showing you the right country's listings.
To communicate with you about your account or a reservation request, when necessary.
souksafar is a marketplace connecting travelers with independent travel agencies — it isn't a travel agency itself. When you submit a reservation request, favorite a trip, follow an agency, or otherwise contact an agency through the site, the information you provide (name, phone, email, and trip details) is shared with that specific agency so they can respond to you.
We don't sell your personal information to third parties, and we don't share it with agencies you haven't interacted with.
We keep your account and reservation information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time (see "Your rights" below).
You can access, correct, or delete your account information at any time by signing in and updating your profile, or by contacting us at the email below.
If you'd like a copy of the data we hold about you, or want your account permanently deleted, email us and we'll action it.
Passwords are stored using one-way hashing, never in plain text. We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee perfect security — please use a strong, unique password.
We may update this policy from time to time as the platform evolves. We'll update the date below when we do.
